Bowls at Clovelly is open to everyone, whether you’re stepping onto the greens for the first time or have years of experience behind you. Our club is built around friendly social play where members and guests come together to enjoy the game, keep active, and share time in a relaxed coastal setting. With regular sessions each week and free coaching available, there’s always an opportunity to roll up and join in.
For those looking for a little more challenge, we also host organised competition bowls including club events and pennant play. Members can take advantage of our three well-maintained greens to practice and prepare, while staying connected to the wider bowls community. Play & Practice
Social Bowling
Social Bowls is played three times a week and is open to all Playing Members. It’s a chance to enjoy the game in a relaxed setting, share laughs, and build skills for future competitions.
Social Bowling Times
- Tuesdays (Women’s Bowls) – 9.30am – Arrive by 9:00am
- Wednesdays & Fridays – 12:30pm – Arrive by 11:45pm
- Sundays – 9:30am – Arrive by 9:00am
It is important that you call ahead and tell us that you are coming so we can make up the player score cards and identify what rink you will be playing on.

Competition Bowling
Competition Bowls at Clovelly includes Social, Club and Pennant competitions for full Bowling Club Members.
Our three well-groomed greens are available for roll ups and practice, giving members every opportunity to prepare and improve.
For enquiries on how to get involved in Competition Bowls, call 02 9665 1507 (between 10am and 4pm, Monday to Friday).
Please note: Social, Club and Pennant competitions are available only to full Bowling Club Members.
Free Coaching
Our Club offers free coaching for players at any level, provided by fully trained and certified coaches. Both men and women coaches are available, and sessions can be arranged simply by asking at the counter. Coaching is designed to help you feel comfortable on the greens and build confidence in your game.
During coaching you’ll receive guidance on:
- Basic bowling technique
- How to play within social games
- Preparing for club and pennant competition
Whether you are completely new to bowls or want to refine your skills, these lessons are a free way to get started and enjoy the game even more.
